Camshaft Position (CMP) Sensor (Chevrolet Aveo T250)

            0

Contents: Removal ↧ Installation ↧
The camshaft position sensor sends a CMP signal to the engine control module. The ECM uses this signal as a timing pulse to fire the injectors in the proper sequence.

The ECM uses the CMP sensor signal to determine the position of piston #1 during the power stroke. This allows the ECM to calculate the actual sequential fuel injection mode. If the ECM detects an inconsistency in the CMP sensor signal while the engine is running, DTC P0341 will be set. If the CMP sensor signal is lost while the engine is running, the fuel delivery system will go to the calculated sequential fuel injection mode based on the last injection pulse and the engine will continue to run. The engine can be restarted at the time the fault occurs. It will run in the calculated sequential mode with the appropriate injector ratio of one to six.

Removal

1. Disconnect the "-" battery cable.

2. Remove the sensor connector.

3. Remove the mounting screw and the camshaft position sensor (CMP).

3. Remove the mounting screw and the camshaft position sensor (CMP).

Installation

1. Install the CMP sensor and tighten the mounting screws to a torque of 12 Nm.

2. Connect the sensor connector.

3. Connect the "-" wire of the battery.
