Draining the fuel tank (Chevrolet Tahoe 2)

Front or single tank



1. Unscrew the fuel tank filler cap.

2. Raise the vehicle and place safety posts under the frame.

3. Loosen the clamp (1) securing the front fuel filler neck hose (the only one) tank to tank.

4. Remove the front filler neck hose (the only one) tank.

5. Insert the siphon hose into the fuel tank.

6. Connect the siphon hose to a manual or air-operated fuel pump.

7. Pump out the maximum amount of fuel.

1. Unscrew the fuel tank filler cap.

2. Unscrew the bolts (1) and (2) securing the filler neck cover housing.

2. Unscrew the bolts (1) and (2) securing the filler neck cover housing.


3. Unscrew the bolts securing the cover body to the fuel tank filler neck pipe.



3. Unscrew the bolts securing the cover body to the fuel tank filler neck pipe.


4. Remove the cover body.

5. Raise the vehicle and place safety stands under the frame.

6. Loosen the clamp (3) of the rear tank filler neck hose.

7. Remove the filler neck hose.

8. Insert the siphon hose into the fuel tank.

9. Connect the siphon hose to the hand or fuel pump.

10. Pump out the maximum amount of fuel.
