Caution: It is not recommended to reinstall the valve, always install a new valve after removing it. The following inspection procedure is for diagnostic purposes only.
1. On the vehicle: remove the variable valve timing solenoid valve.
2. Insert the valve spool into the valve body. The valve spool should move freely without sticking and with minimal resistance. Release the valve spool.
The return spring should return the valve to its original position (1).

Measure the valve protrusion. It should be 6.08-6.12 mm.
3. When repairing the engine outside the vehicle, inspect the removed valve. Assess the cleanliness of the oil supply holes (1) and the outlet of the check valve (3). If there are dirt deposits, determine the source of the dirt.
