2. To save time and avoid problems, engine reassembly should be carried out in the following sequence:
- Crankshaft and main bearings
- Pistons assembled with connecting rods
- Balance shaft (only for 3.8L engine)
- Camshaft
- Rear oil seal
- Timing chain and sprockets
- Timing chain cover and oil pump
- Oil pan
- Cylinder heads
- Valve lifters
- Valves and pushrods
- Intake and exhaust manifolds
- Valve covers
- Flywheel
