Traction Control System (TAS) (Chevrolet Tahoe) (Chevrolet Tahoe 2)

            0

The traction control system (TAS) is designed to automatically prevent wheel slip during acceleration and driving on slippery surfaces and ensures stable vehicle control. However, it is worth keeping in mind that on slippery road surfaces, even with the TAS system operating, the driver cannot always control the vehicle at high speed. If the traction control system is activated while driving, you will feel a loss of power, which is a sign that the TAS system is preventing wheel slip.

If you get stuck in snow or mud, you may need to turn the system off or on, as the TAS system can either help or hinder your driving, depending on the situation.

When the TAS switch is pressed, the system is switched off and the traction control off indicator lights up.

Pressing the switch again turns the TAS system on and the traction control off indicator goes out.

Note: The TAS system will be turned on automatically the next time the ignition is turned on, even if the traction control switch has been pressed.

The TAS system will be disabled automatically under the following conditions:
  • The automatic transmission selector is set to position "1".
  • When driving off-road.
  • After a long period of preventing wheel slippage.
  • The TAS system is faulty.
