Coolant pump (Chevrolet Tahoe 2)

Removal



1. Remove the air filter outlet duct.

2. Drain the cooling system.

3. Remove the vent hose clamp (1) at the air bleed tube fitting.

3. Remove the vent hose clamp (1) at the air bleed tube fitting.


4. Remove the vent hose (2) from the air bleed tube fitting.

5. Remove the upper radiator hose clamp (3) at the coolant pump.

6. Remove the upper radiator hose from the coolant pump.

7. Remove the upper radiator hose and vent hose from the pump.

8. Remove the accessory drive belt.

9. Remove the lower radiator hose clamp at the coolant pump.

9. Remove the lower radiator hose clamp at the coolant pump.


10. Remove the lower radiator hose from the pump connection.



11. Remove the lower radiator hose from the pump.

12. Remove the expansion tank hose clamp (1) at the coolant pump.

12. Remove the expansion tank hose clamp (1) at the coolant pump.


13. Remove the expansion tank hose (2) from the pump branch pipe.

14. Remove the expansion tank hose from the pump

15. Remove the heater inlet hose clamp (1) at the coolant pump.

15. Remove the heater inlet hose clamp (1) at the coolant pump.


16. Remove the heater inlet hose (2) from the pump branch pipe.

17. Remove the heater hose from the pump.

18. Loosen the coolant pump mounting bolts (301). Tightening torque: first pass 15 Nm, second pass 30 Nm.

19. Remove the pump (300) and gaskets (306). Discard the gaskets. Use new gaskets when installing.



Installation



20. Installation is carried out in reverse order.

Note: Do not use sealants unless otherwise stated. The use of sealants may restrict coolant circulation through the engine or accessory cooling system, which may result in overheating.


Caution: All surfaces to be sealed with gaskets must be clean and dry.
