Engine start inhibit switch (Chevrolet Tahoe 2)

Removal

Note:

• Before carrying out any work, disconnect the cable from the negative terminal of the battery.
• Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.

1. Jack up the vehicle and place safety stands under the frame.

2. Disconnect the automatic transmission control cable from the switch lever.

Note: Make sure the selector is in the "N" position.

3. Remove the starter inhibit switch lever.

• a) Loosen the fastening nut (1). Tightening torque 25 Nm.
• b) Remove the switch lever (2).

4. Remove the automatic transmission fluid pan and filter.

5. Release the lock and disconnect the switch connector (1).

Note: The clip (4) near the connector was used to secure the wiring during gearbox assembly at the factory. If this clip is damaged, there is no need to replace it.

6. Loosen the mounting bolt (2). Tightening torque 8 Nm.

7. Remove the start inhibit switch (3).

Installation

Caution: Before installation, adjust the position of the switch moving contact using the manual valve rod.
