Warning: If the instrument needle is in the red sector of the scale, stop the car immediately, turn off the ignition, find out and eliminate the cause of engine overheating. Continuing to drive with an overheating engine can cause serious damage to your car.
— Automatic brake lock malfunction indicator (with ABS)
When you turn on the ignition, the ABS malfunction indicator should come on briefly and go out after about two seconds. This indicates that the system is testing.
Attention: be sure to contact the ZAZ service station if the ABS malfunction indicator:
- does not light up when ignition is turned on;
- does not go out;
- lights up while the vehicle is moving.
Warning: Do not continue driving your vehicle with the ABC malfunction indicator illuminated. If the indicator illuminates while you are driving, it may mean that the ABC system has failed or the brakes in your vehicle are not working properly. Although your vehicle will operate normally without ABC, you should still have the system checked and repaired immediately by a service station.
— Airbag malfunction indicator (if available)
When you turn on the ignition, the airbag malfunction indicator should flash several times and go out. This means the indicator light and the airbag system are working properly.
Warning: Driving a vehicle with a faulty airbag can cause serious injury or even death in a vehicle accident. Therefore, if the system malfunctions, contact a service station immediately to fix the problem.
A malfunction of the airbag system may be indicated by the indicator:
- does not blink when ignition is turned on; does not go out after several blinks;
- flashes while the vehicle is moving.
— Parking brake and brake system malfunction indicator
Indicates that the parking brake is engaged and that the brake fluid level in the master cylinder reservoir is insufficient.
The indicator lights up when the ignition is turned on and goes out after the engine starts. The indicator also lights up when the parking brake is applied (tightened) (with ignition on).
When the parking brake is fully released, the indicator should go out (with ignition on). If the indicator continues to light, this indicates that the brake fluid level in the master cylinder reservoir is insufficient.
— Low battery indicator
The indicator lights up when the ignition is turned on and goes out after the engine starts.
If the indicator continues to light after starting the engine, this indicates a malfunction in the electrical supply system.
Possible causes of the malfunction:
- loosening or breakage of the alternator drive belt;
- generator, voltage regulator failure;
- broken wiring;
- failure of the battery or oxidation of its terminal connections.
Warning: The cause of the malfunction must be identified and corrected immediately. Driving a car with a faulty electrical system can cause damage to the battery and your car.
— Engine oil pressure drop indicator
The indicator lights up when the ignition is turned on and goes out after the engine starts.
If the indicator lights up while the car is moving, this indicates an emergency pressure drop in the engine lubrication system. You must stop the engine immediately. After waiting for some time, necessary for the oil to completely drain into the engine crankcase, you need to check the oil level. Add oil if necessary. If the indicator continues to light with a normal oil level, you should contact a service station.
— Engine system malfunction indicator
The indicator lights up when the ignition is turned on and goes out after the engine starts. This means that the indicator lamp is working properly.
The indicator will illuminate if the corresponding components of the exhaust gas aftertreatment system or corresponding subsystems are not operating.
The indicator will remain on as long as the electronic control module indicates a malfunction. If a severe misfire is detected, the indicator will flash continuously. In this case, the engine control unit switches to emergency mode, which allows you to continue driving. However, in order to quickly eliminate the malfunction, contact a service station, since a severe misfire can cause damage to the catalytic converter of exhaust gases.
— Door open indicator
The indicator lights up if one or more doors are open or not completely closed.
— Automatic transmission gear hold mode indicator (optional)
The indicator lights up when you press the gear hold mode switch. This mode allows you to hold the automatic transmission gear until you shift it manually (see the section on driving a car with an automatic transmission).
To cancel the hold mode, you must press the switch again.
— Front fog light indicator
Lights up when the front fog lights are turned on.
— Rear fog light indicator
Lights up when the rear fog lights are turned on.
— Seat belt unfastened indicator
Lights up when the seat belt is not fastened; at the same time, a sound signal sounds for 6 seconds.
— Indicator for direction indicators and emergency stop
The indicator confirms that the external direction indicator and hazard warning lights are working properly. The hazard warning light is displayed both when the ignition is on and when it is off, and the direction indicator light is displayed only when the ignition is on.
If the indicator does not come on when the turn signal or emergency stop button is turned on, check the corresponding fuse and the condition of the indicator bulb.
If the indicator flashes too quickly, this indicates that one or more turn signal lamps are faulty.
— High beam indicator
The indicator lights up when the high beam is switched on. Anti-theft alarm activation indicator (optional)

The indicator lights up when the anti-theft system is activated, and also when you open the door using the remote control. The indicator goes out when you open the doors using the key or remote control.
