Removal
Caution: The fuel system is under pressure. To avoid the risk of injury or fire, relieve the fuel system pressure before disconnecting the fuel lines.
1. Release the fuel pressure.
- Remove the fuel tank filler cap.
- Remove the fuel pump fuse Ef10 from the engine fuse box.
- Start the engine and let it stop.
- Let the engine spin for a few seconds.
2. Disconnect the "-" battery cable.
3. Remove the rear seat.
4. Remove the fuel pump access cover.
5. Remove the fuel pump electrical connector.
6. Remove the fuel outlet line.
7. Turn the locking ring counterclockwise until the petals open.
8. Remove the fuel pump assembly from the tank.
9. Remove the gasket.
Installation
1. Clean the gasket mounting surfaces on the fuel tank.
2. Install a new gasket.
3. Install the fuel pump into the fuel tank in the same position as it was removed to facilitate connection of the fuel lines and connectors.
4. Install the retaining ring and turn it clockwise until it contacts the tank stopper.
5. Connect the fuel pump assembly connector.
6. Install the fuel pump return line.
7. Install the pump process cover.
8. Connect the "-" battery cable.
9. Perform a fuel pump performance check.
10. Install the rear seat.
