Forced crankcase ventilation system (Chevrolet Aveo T200)

The Positive Crankcase Ventilation (PCV) system is designed to prevent crankcase gases from entering the environment. Fresh air is supplied to the crankcase from the air filter. The fresh air mixes with crankcase gases, which are then passed through hoses into the intake manifold.

Perform regular inspections of hoses and clamps.

If necessary, replace components of the crankcase ventilation system.

A clogged PCV hose can cause the following:

• idle instability;
• stalling or low idle;
• oil leak;
• oil in air filter;
• sediment in the engine.

A leaking PCV hose can cause the following:

• idle instability;
• engine stall;
• high idle speed.
