Rear wheel speed sensor (Chevrolet Tahoe 2)

Removal



1. Raise the vehicle and place safety posts under the frame.

2. Disconnect the sensor wiring connector.

3. Loosen the speed sensor mounting bolt. Tightening torque 13 Nm.

4. Release the sensor wires from the support clips.

4. Release the sensor wires from the support clips.


5. Remove the wheel speed sensor.

Installation



6. Installation is carried out in the reverse order. After installation, check the operation of the sensor:
  • a) Start the engine at idle speed.
  • b) Observe the status of the ABS or traction control indicator.
  • c) If the indicator is on, do not operate the vehicle until the fault is corrected. Check that the sensor connector is securely connected.
  • d) Choose a road with a dry and clean surface, as free as possible from traffic.
  • d) Accelerate the car to at least 16 km/h and maintain this speed for at least five seconds.
  • e) Stop the vehicle and check the status of the ABS or traction control indicator.
  • g) If the indicator is on, perform ABS diagnostics.
