The rear wheel speed sensor is installed in the rear suspension knuckle hole. To replace it, do the following.
NOTE: Removal and installation of left rear wheel speed sensor shown. The right rear wheel speed sensor is removed and installed in the same way.
1. Disconnect the wire from the terminal «minus» battery.
2. Install wheel chocks under the front wheels («shoes») and loosen the corresponding rear wheel nuts. Raise the rear of the vehicle, secure it on stands and remove the rear wheel.
3. In the rear wheel arch, unscrew the two nuts securing the cover of the electrical connector of the sensor wiring harness...
4.... and remove the cover.
5. Squeeze the latch and separate the sensor block.
6. Disconnect the sensor block from the holder on the body.
7. Remove the wiring harness from the holder on the suspension arm.
8. Turn out a bolt of fastening of the gauge to a fist of a back suspension bracket...
9.... and remove the sensor from the fist hole.
10. Install the rear wheel speed sensor in the reverse order of removal.
WARNINGS: When installing the rear wheel speed sensor, align the hole in the sensor housing exactly with the threaded hole in the knuckle. During installation, do not rotate the sensor around the longitudinal axis.
An increase in resistance to the movement of the sensor should be felt only the last 2 mm before it is fully seated in the fist. If the sensor with high resistance enters the knuckle hole from the very beginning of the installation, remove the sensor and eliminate the cause of the jam (dirt, burr on the body, etc.).
It is strictly forbidden to press the wheel speed sensor with a hammer.
