Steering — General Information (Chevrolet Tahoe 2)

Depending on the modification and year of manufacture, one of two types of steering mechanisms can be installed on the models:

• worm - ball nut;
• rack - sector.

To differentiate the concepts, the first type is called the steering gear, the second type is called the steering rack. The power steering pump reservoir can be an integral part of the pump or mounted separately on the bulkhead of the engine compartment or on the inner wing or on the engine bracket.
