Negative battery terminal cable (Chevrolet Tahoe 2)

Disconnecting and connecting



1. Turn off all electrical loads.

2. Turn off the ignition.

3. Open the hood.

4. Loosen the cable fastening nut. Tightening torque 5 Nm.

5. Remove the cable from the battery terminal.

6. Move the cable to the side.

7. Connection is carried out in reverse order.

Removal and installation



1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

2. Remove the air filter housing outlet duct.

3. Disconnect the battery current sensor connector (1).

3. Disconnect the battery current sensor connector (1).


4. Remove the clip (3) securing the battery current sensor to the battery tray (if installed).

4. Remove the clip (3) securing the battery current sensor to the battery tray (if installed).


5. Loosen the stud (1) securing the negative battery cable to the front of the right cylinder head. Tightening torque 25 Nm.

6. Disconnect the negative terminal cable end (2) from the cylinder head.

7. Raise the vehicle and place safety posts under the frame.

8. Loosen the bolt (1) securing the ground wire of the front headlight. Tightening torque 25 N·m.

9. Disconnect the headlight ground wire end (2) from the frame.

10. Pull the negative battery cable end (3) through the gap between the radiator support and the frame.

11 Disconnect the negative terminal cable support clip (2) from the chassis wire harness.

11 Disconnect the negative terminal cable support clip (2) from the chassis wire harness.


12. Lower the vehicle.



13. Disconnect the clip (1) supporting the negative terminal cable from the right wheel arch liner.

14. Remove the negative battery cable.

14. Remove the negative battery cable.


15. If the cable is to be replaced, remove the battery current sensor.

16. Installation is carried out in reverse order.
