Starter Cable — Removal and Installation (Chevrolet Tahoe 2)

Removal



1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

2. Remove the air filter housing outlet duct.

3. Remove the main power supply circuit fuse cover.

3. Remove the main power supply circuit fuse cover.


4. Loosen the nut (1) securing the starter cable to the stud of the main fuse of the power supply circuit. Tightening torque 9 N·m.

5. Remove the starter cable end (2) from the fuse stud.

6. Open the starter cable cover on the positive battery terminal.

7. Loosen the nut (5) securing the starter cable. Tightening torque 5 Nm.

8. Remove the starter cable from the battery terminal.

9. Remove the starter cable support clip (4) from the air conditioner evaporator tube.

10. Raise the vehicle and place safety stands under the frame.



11. Loosen the mounting bolts and remove the oil pan protection.

Tightening torque 28 Nm.

12. Remove the starter cable support clip (1) from the wheel arch liner.

13. Loosen the bolt (2) securing the cable support clip to the frame.

14. Loosen the nut (1) securing the starter cable to the starter. Tightening torque 9 Nm.

14. Loosen the nut (1) securing the starter cable to the starter. Tightening torque 9 Nm.


15. Disconnect the cable (2) from the starter.



16. Lower the vehicle.

17. Remove the starter cable.

Installation



18. Installation in reverse order.
