1. Wash the crankshaft pulley with solvent.
2. Use a wire brush to clean the grooves of the pulley under the accessory drive belt.
3. Dry the crankshaft pulley with compressed air.
4. Check up a condition of a surface of a pulley on which the forward epiploon of a cranked shaft works. If there is a wear groove, corrosion spots, or other defect, replace the pulley.
Minor surface defects can be removed by polishing.
5. Check the condition of the pulley grooves. The streams should not have chips, burrs or other defects that violate the route of the belt.
Minor defects can be removed with a small file.
6. Check the condition of the rubber pulley damper, look for signs of cracking or peeling of the damper from the metal.
