Removal and installation rear suspension springs (Chevrolet Aveo T200)

Caution: Do not use a two-post lift when removing the rear springs. Vibrations during removal of certain fasteners may cause the rear axle assembly to slip off the lift. This may cause injury. If necessary, perform the procedure on the floor.


Removal



1. Raise and support the vehicle properly. If possible, use a contact lift and support the rear control arms with jack stands.

2. Remove the wheel.

3. Remove the right and left shock absorber bolts.

3. Remove the right and left shock absorber bolts.


4. Lower the rear axle and remove the springs and elastic upper spring stop.

4. Lower the rear axle and remove the springs and elastic upper spring stop.


Installation



Caution: Before installing the springs, it is necessary to tape the elastic upper spring stops to the housing to ensure that they remain in place while lifting the axle assembly and springs.




1. Install the upper insulator and fix the lower buffer.

2. Install the springs and raise the axle.

3. Install the shock absorbers.

Caution: Before tightening the shock absorber mounting bolts, the axle assembly must be raised to the vehicle's ride height.


4. Install the wheel.

5. Remove the stands and lower the vehicle.
