Removal
Caution: When replacing both shock absorbers, remove and install only one shock absorber at a time. Sagging of the rear axle along its entire length can cause damage to the brake line and hoses.

1. Remove the upper bolts securing the shock absorber to the body.
Caution: When lifting the vehicle with a lift, the rear axle must be supported with appropriate stands.
2. Raise the vehicle and secure the rear axle securely.
3. Remove the lower bolt securing the shock absorber to the beam.
4. Remove the shock absorber.

Installation
Caution: Before final tightening of the shock absorber mounting bolts, the axle assembly must be raised to a position corresponding to the suspension position with the vehicle on the ground loaded to the load with which the vehicle is most often used.
1. Install the lower shock absorber to beam mounting bolt through the lower shock absorber bracket into the beam.
2. Lower the vehicle to guide the shock absorber rod into the body hole and install the bolts.
Tightening
Tighten the lower shock absorber mounting bolt to the axle to 70 Nm and the upper shock absorber mounting bolt to the body to 50 Nm.
