The battery mounting shelf is removed for replacement if it is damaged and to gain access to other components and assemblies of the vehicle.
1. Remove the battery (see "Removal and installation the battery").
2. Pry up the engine wiring harness bracket and disconnect the bracket from the battery tray bracket.
3. Similarly, disconnect the second motor wiring harness holder from the shelf.
4. Pry up the ground wire holder and disconnect the holder from the battery tray bracket.
5. Similarly, disconnect the second holder of the "ground" wire from the shelf.
6. Remove the three battery tray mounting bolts.
7. Move the shelf away from the bracket.
8. Press the latch and disconnect the contactless discharge current sensor from the battery shelf, then remove the shelf.
9. Install the parts in the reverse order of removal.
