Checking the exhaust system (Chevrolet Tahoe 1)

1. Check the condition of the exhaust system, starting from the engine and ending with the final section. Perform the check on a cold engine, at least 3 hours after the trip. For the check, it is best to lift the car to ensure unimpeded access to all parts of the system.

2. Check the exhaust pipes and connections for signs of exhaust leakage, severe corrosion and mechanical damage. Make sure that all brackets and supports for the exhaust pipes are securely fastened and intact (see photo).

3. Check the condition of the bottom, the presence of through damage and torn seams through which gases can enter the cabin.

4. Shake the pipes with mufflers. If the pipes and mufflers come into contact with suspension parts or the underbody, replace the fastening parts, or, if possible, separate the pipes and rotate them relative to each other to ensure sufficient distance from other parts.
