Axle shaft seal (semi-floating axle shaft) — replacement (Chevrolet Tahoe 1)

1. Remove the axle shaft.

2. Pry and remove the seal from the end of the axle housing with a large screwdriver or the inside of the axle shaft (see photo).



3. Lubricate the seal recess with high-melting grease and press the seal in with light hammer blows on the mandrel (see photo). The seal must be flush with the axle shaft housing.
