Fuel lines and hoses on the chassis (Chevrolet Tahoe 2)

Caution: Before disconnecting tube/hose connectors, clean the areas around the connector.


Removal and installation



1. Relieve pressure in the fuel system.

2. Disconnect the fuel vapor recovery system pipe connector (1) from the system pipe on the chassis.

2. Disconnect the fuel vapor recovery system pipe connector (1) from the system pipe on the chassis.


3. Disconnect the fuel supply pipe connector (2) from the fuel manifold.

4. Plug open holes.

5. Raise the vehicle and place safety stands under the frame.

6. Disconnect and move aside the front propeller shaft.

7. Loosen the nut securing the fuel pipe support bracket to the torque converter housing.

7. Loosen the nut securing the fuel pipe support bracket to the torque converter housing.


Tightening torque 20 Nm.

8. Remove the fuel line clip from the bracket on the automatic transmission housing.

9. Remove the fuel line clip from the transfer case housing.



9. Remove the fuel line clip from the transfer case housing.


Series 1500



10. Loosen the bolt (3) securing the fuel pipe support bracket. Tightening torque 12 Nm.

11. Disconnect the connector (4) of the fuel vapor recovery system pipe on the chassis from the fuel tank pipe.

12. Disconnect the connector (5) of the fuel supply pipe on the chassis from the fuel tank pipe.

13. Plug open holes.

14. Remove the tube support clips on the frame side member and cross member.

Series 2500



10. Loosen the nuts securing the tube support bracket to the frame side member. Proceed to step 15. Tightening torque 18 N·m.

All models



15. Remove the tubes from the vehicle.



16. Installation is carried out in the reverse order. After installation, check the tightness of the connections:
  • a) Turn on the ignition for two seconds (do not start the engine).
  • b) Turn off the ignition for ten seconds.
  • c) Turn on the ignition (do not start the engine).
  • d) Inspect the system, look for fuel leaks.
