The air filter and its air duct are removed if they are damaged and to gain access to other units in the engine compartment.
1. Disconnect the wire from the negative terminal of the battery.

2. Squeeze the latch.

3. ...and disconnect the wiring harness connector from the mass air flow sensor.

4. Loosen the air supply hose clamp screw...

5. ...and remove the sleeve from the air filter pipe.

6. Pull the air filter housing up...

7. ...and remove the pin of the lower fastening of the air filter housing...

8. ...from the rubber bushing on the engine compartment frame bracket.

9. Pull the air filter housing side mounting pins out of the rubber bushings on the side of the engine compartment frame.

10. Disconnect the air filter pipe from the air duct coupling...

11. ...and remove the air filter.

12. In the engine compartment, unscrew the lower...

13. ...and the side screws for fastening the air duct sealing shield.

14. Pull out the piston core of the air duct sealing shield and remove the piston.
15. Remove the right front wheel mudguard liner (see "Removing and installing wheel mudguards and mud flaps", p. 261).

16. In the right wheel arch, remove the upper air duct holder from the hole in the bracket...

17. ...and the lower holder is made from the rubber bushing of the side member.

18. Press back the air duct sealing shield and pull the air duct connecting sleeve into the wheel arch.

19. Pry up the air duct mounting clip and disconnect the clip from the engine compartment frame bracket...

20. ...then remove the air duct.
21. Install the air duct and air filter in the reverse order of removal.
