The air filter element is replaced during the next maintenance. However, its condition largely depends on the operating conditions of the vehicle: on dustier and more polluted roads, the element gets clogged faster.
HELPFUL TIP: Periodically between replacements, remove the filter element and clean it of dust by vigorously shaking it or blowing it with compressed air in the direction opposite to the air flow when the engine is running.

1. Remove the two screws securing the air filter cover.

NOTE: This is the location of the air cleaner cover retaining screws.

2. Lift the lid by the edge...

3. ...and remove the tabs on the opposite edge of the cover from the holes in the air filter housing.

4. Move the air filter cover to the side and remove the air filter element from the housing.
5. Inspect the filter element. Blow it with compressed air. Replace a heavily contaminated filter element.
6. Remove dust and dirt from the air filter housing.

7. Install the filter element in the reverse order of removal.
