1. Engine mounts require little to no maintenance. However, if wear is found on the bearings, they should be replaced immediately.
2. Before checking, slightly remove the cover of the ignition distributor to avoid damage when hanging the engine.
3. Raise the vehicle and place it on stands, then place a jack under the sump and raise the engine by placing a board under the sump.
4. Check the condition of the supports. If delaminations and breaks are found, replace the support.
5. Check the strength of the cushions and the reliability of the fastening of the supports to the metal base by shaking the support with a mount. If there is a noticeable displacement of the support, then tighten all fasteners
6. Disconnect the battery from the ground. Raise the car and put it on stands.
7. Turn away a nut and get a through bolt of a support from an arm (see photo).
8. Hang the engine, unscrew the bolts securing the support to the cylinder block (on V6 and V8 engines 5.0 and 5.7 liters) or frame mounting bolts (7.4 liter engine) and remove the support.
9. Installation is carried out in the reverse order. Lubricate the threads of bolts and nuts with a fixing compound.
