Removal
1. Remove the top engine cover.
2. Remove the holder (2) of the right half-block wire harness connector.

3. Disconnect the ignition coil wiring from the retainer (1).
4. Remove the throttle actuator wire support clip (6) from the ignition coil bracket stud.
5. Move the throttle actuator wires to the side.
Late models
6. Remove the generator cable support clip (1) from the ignition coil bracket stud.

7. Move the generator cable to the side.
All models
8. Remove the heater inlet hose (2) from the bracket (3).

9. Remove the expansion tank hose from the bracket (3).

10. Loosen the heater hose bracket mounting nut and remove the bracket. Tightening torque 9 Nm.

11. Remove the spark plug wires (724) from the ignition coil:
- turn the wire cover half a turn;
- pull the wire from the spark plug by the cover.

12. Unscrew the studs (720) of the ignition coil bracket. Tightening torque 12 Nm.
13. Remove the ignition coil bracket (719).
14. Remove the crankcase ventilation tube (1) from the fitting (2) of the valve cover of the right half-block.

15. Loosen the valve cover mounting bolts. Tightening torque 12 Nm.

16. Remove the valve cover.
17. Remove and discard the old cover gasket (1).

18. If it is necessary to replace the oil filler neck:
- unscrew the cap (424) of the oil filler neck (423);
- remove the oil filler neck.
Installation
19. Installation is carried out in the reverse order. Never reinstall the valve cover gasket and the removed oil filler neck.
