Removal



1. Remove the cylinder head.

2. Loosen the bolts (211) securing the valve guide. Tightening torque 12 Nm.

3. Remove the pushrod guides (210) together with the pushrods. Mark the installation locations of the guides. The undercut in the guide must match the protrusion in the engine block.

4. Remove the pushers (209) and (219) from the guide (210).

Note: on engines without a cylinder deactivation system, all tappets are the same, pos. (209).

Note: on engines with a cylinder shut-off system, the tappets are secured against rotation by a protrusion (2) in a slot (1) of the guide. Conventional tappets are secured against rotation by a plane.

5. Mark the installation locations of the parts so that when assembling, you can install the parts in their old locations.

6. Wash and inspect the tappets.

7. Installation is carried out in the reverse order. When installing, lubricate the tappets with engine oil.
