Lighting and light signaling (Chevrolet Aveo T200)

Attention: when removing / installing headlamps and replacing lamps, disconnect the negative wire (ground). from the battery (s).


When installing new lamps, do not touch the bulb with your hands, as this may cause the lamp to fail during operation. If the bulb is dirty, be sure to degrease it with a cotton swab soaked in alcohol.

Block headlights



Removal



1. Loosen the mounting screws and remove the radiator grille.

1. Loosen the mounting screws and remove the radiator grille.


2. Loosen and remove the headlight mounting screws.

3. Disconnect the electrical connectors.

4. Remove the headlight unit.

Installation



Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.

Sedan type body

When installing, tighten the headlight mounting screws to a torque of 6 Nm.



Fog lights



Removal



Unscrew the nuts securing the fog lights.

Remove the fog lights.

When installing, tighten the fog light mounting nuts to 3 Nm.

Replacing lamps



Low/high beam lamp



Low/high beam lamp


1. Disconnect the electrical connector from the lamp socket.

2. Remove the cover that covers the lamp.

3. Remove the spring clip from the lamp.

Side light bulb



Side light bulb


1. Disconnect the electrical connector from the lamp socket.

2. Turn the lamp holder counterclockwise.

3. Remove the bulb holder from the headlight housing.

4. Remove the lamp from the socket.

Turn signal lamp



Turn signal lamp

  • Disconnect the electrical connector from the lamp socket.
  • Turn the lamp socket counterclockwise.
  • Remove the bulb holder from the headlight housing.
  • Press down on the bulb, turn it counterclockwise and remove the bulb from the socket.

Fog light bulb (sedan type body)



Fog light bulb (sedan type body)

  • Disconnect the electrical connector from the lamp socket.
  • Turn the lamp socket counterclockwise.
  • Remove the bulb from the headlight housing.

Fog light bulb (hatchback body type)



Fog light bulb (hatchback body type)

  • Turn the plastic cover counterclockwise and remove it.
  • Remove the spring clip.
  • Remove the bulb from the headlight housing.




Direction indicator repeaters



Replacing the lamp



1. Remove the lamp assembly by pushing it backwards.

1. Remove the lamp assembly by pushing it backwards.


2. Disconnect the electrical connector.

3. Turn the lamp holder counterclockwise.

4. Remove the lamp from the socket without turning it.

Rear combination lights



The rear combination lights include the following sections: side lights, brake lights, direction indicators, reversing lights, and fog lights.

Sedan type body



Removal



1. Open the trunk lid.

2. Remove the side trim of the luggage compartment.

2. Remove the side trim of the luggage compartment.


3. Disconnect the electrical connectors.

4. Unscrew the mounting screws and remove the rear light assembly.

Hatchback type body



1. Open the back door.

2. Unscrew the screws securing the rear light assembly.

3. Remove the rear light assembly by pushing it upwards and towards you.



4. Disconnect the electrical connectors.

4. Disconnect the electrical connectors.


When installing, tighten the mounting screws to a torque of 3 Nm.

Additional brake light (sedan)



Removal



Removal


1. Open the trunk lid.

2. Disconnect the electrical connector from the lamp socket.

3. Loosen the mounting screws and remove the brake light assembly.

4. Remove the socket with the lamp from the housing.

5. If necessary, unscrew the mounting screws and separate the housing and the brake light reflector.

Additional brake light (hatchback)



Removal



1. Open the back door.

2. Lower the brake light housing by pressing the latches.

2. Lower the brake light housing by pressing the latches.


3. Use a screwdriver to open the diffuser cover.



3. Use a screwdriver to open the diffuser cover.


4. Unscrew the mounting screws and remove the brake light.

5. Disconnect the electrical connector.

6. Remove the lamp.

When installing, tighten the mounting screws to a torque of 3 Nm.

License plate light



Removal



1. Unscrew the mounting screws.

2. Remove the lantern assembly.

2. Remove the lantern assembly.


3. Remove the lamp holder from the housing by turning it counterclockwise.

4. Remove the lamp from the socket.

When installing, tighten the lamp mounting screws to a torque of 1.5 Nm.

Luggage compartment light



Removal



Carefully press the locking tabs and use a flat-head screwdriver to remove the light.

Disconnect the electrical connector.

Disconnect the electrical connector.





Limit switch



Limit switch


Located in the door opening. Serves to turn on the interior lighting when the door is opened. The tightening torque of the switch mounting screw is 4.5 Nm.
