Removal, inspection and installation of the generator (Chevrolet Aveo T200)

Removal



To remove the generator, you should:
  • provide access to it
  • remove the drive belt

remove the drive belt

  • disconnect the wires from the generator,

disconnect the wires from the generator,

  • disconnect the upper generator bracket,

disconnect the upper generator bracket,

  • disconnect the lower bracket from the generator.

disconnect the lower bracket from the generator.





Tightening the fasteners during installation



Lower generator mounting bracket nuts to the generator - torque 25 Nm.

Generator earring bracket bolt - torque 25 Nm.

Generator wire fastening nut - torque 15 Nm.

Checking the generator



Checking for absence of contact between the excitation winding and the magnetic core. The ohmmeter should show infinite resistance.

The measured excitation winding resistance should be 2.9 ohms.
