Removal and installation the timing belt (Chevrolet Aveo T200)

Removal



1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

2. Disconnect the supply air temperature sensor connector.

3. Disconnect the air duct from the throttle body.

4. Remove the air filter housing.

5. Remove the right front wheel.

6. Remove the right front wheel mudguard.

7. Remove the accessory drive belt.

8. Unscrew the screws securing the upper part of the timing belt drive cover.

9. Remove the upper part of the timing belt cover.

10. Remove the crankshaft pulley.

11. Remove the lower part of the timing belt cover.

11. Remove the lower part of the timing belt cover.


12. Install the crankshaft pulley bolt.

13. Turn the crankshaft to align the mark on the camshaft sprocket with the mark on the rear of the timing belt cover.

14. Slightly loosen the coolant pump mounting screws.

15. Turn the coolant pump clockwise until the toothed belt tension is released.

16. Remove the engine mounting bracket.

16. Remove the engine mounting bracket.


17. Remove the timing belt.



Installation



1. Align the mark on the crankshaft timing pulley with the mark on the rear of the timing belt cover.

2. Align the mark on the camshaft sprocket with the mark on the rear of the timing belt cover.

2. Align the mark on the camshaft sprocket with the mark on the rear of the timing belt cover.


3. Install the timing belt.

4. Turn the coolant pump clockwise to ensure maximum tension of the timing belt.

5. Lightly tighten the coolant pump mounting screws.

6. Align the holes of the automatic tensioner adjustment lever

toothed belt devices with a hole in the bracket of the automatic toothed belt tensioner.

7. Insert a 4.5mm screwdriver through the adjustment hole of the adjustment lever and the hole of the tensioner bracket.

8. Turn the crankshaft clockwise two full turns.

9. Align the mark on the crankshaft timing pulley with the mark on the rear of the timing belt cover.

10. Remove the screwdriver from the automatic timing belt tensioner.

11. Slightly loosen the three coolant pump mounting screws.

12. Turn the coolant pump so that the mark on the automatic timing belt tensioner adjustment lever aligns with the mark on the automatic timing belt tensioner bracket.

12. Tighten the coolant pump mounting screws to a torque of 10 Nm.



13. Install the crankshaft pulley bolt.

14. Install the lower part of the timing belt housing.

15. Tighten the timing belt cover lower part screws to 10 Nm.

16. Install the crankshaft pulley.

17. Tighten the crankshaft pulley bolt to a torque of 95 Nm, then finally tighten to an angle of 30°+15°.

18. Install the upper part of the timing belt cover and tighten the mounting screws to a torque of 10 Nm.

19. Install the accessory drive belt.

20. Install the right front wheel mudguard.

21. Install the right front wheel.

22. Install the air filter housing.

23. Connect the air duct to the throttle body.

24. Connect the crankcase ventilation tube to the branch pipe on the valve cover.

25. Connect the supply air temperature sensor connector.

29. Connect the negative battery cable.
