2. Remove the rear wheels. Remove the brake drums.
3. Remove the parking brake cable retaining ring from both sides of the vehicle.
4. Remove the plastic sleeve.
5. Remove the parking brake cable from the brake shoe actuator lever and from the drum brake shield (see figure T250 7.020).
6. Loosen the screws securing the parking brake cable to the bracket on the rear axle.
7. Disconnect the cable mounts from the body by unscrewing the screws (see figure T250 7.021).
8. Disconnect the cable sheath fasteners from the bracket and the cable ends from the cable tension equalizer.
9. Remove the cables.
10. Installation begins with connecting the cables to the drum brakes, and then proceeds in the reverse order of removal.
