2. Release the parking brake.
3. Raise the car.
4. Check the parking brake cables for free movement.
5. Lower the vehicle.
6. Move the front seats forward to provide adequate working space.
7. Pry up and remove the plastic covers that cover the access holes for the screws that secure the parking brake console cover to the tunnel brackets.
8. Remove the screws securing the parking brake console cover to the tunnel brackets.
9. Lift the console cover to access the parking brake lever and adjusting nut.
10. Partially raise the vehicle.
11. Turn the adjusting nut on the parking brake lever until the wheels become difficult to turn.
12. Loosen the nut until the rear wheels begin to rotate freely.
13. Lower the vehicle.
14. Install the parking brake console cover, tighten the screws and install the plugs. Return the front seats to their original position.
