1. Disconnect the wire from the negative terminal of the battery.
2. Remove the driver's airbag module (see "Removal and installation the driver's airbag").
3. Disconnect the wiring harness connector from the speaker control unit.
4. Pull evenly on both edges of the block from the steering wheel spoke...
5. ...and remove the block, overcoming the resistance of the rubber bushings.
CAUTION: When removing, avoid tilting the unit, which could cause the plastic retaining pins in the rubber bushings to break.
6. Install the unit in the reverse order of removal.
7. If necessary, remove the cruise control unit in the same manner.
