
1. Disconnect the wire from the negative terminal of the battery.

2. Drain the fluid from the engine cooling system (see "Replacing the coolant").
USEFUL TIP: When replacing the sensor, you don't have to drain the coolant: after removing the sensor, plug the hole with your finger or a plug - the loss of coolant will be minimal.
3. Press the locking tab on the temperature sensor wiring harness connector and disconnect the connector from the sensor.
4. Pull the spring retainer of the sensor out of the grooves.

5. While gently rocking, pull the sensor and, overcoming the resistance of the rubber sealing ring (the sensor body is installed in the hole with tension), remove it from the hole in the water distributor body.
NOTE: Please note that the sensor is sealed with a rubber ring. Replace the ring with a new one each time the sensor is removed.
6. Install the coolant temperature sensor in reverse order.
7. Fill with coolant.
