2. In the front part of the cardan shaft of front-wheel drive vehicles, a sliding spline joint fork is provided, which ensures the movement of the cardan shaft in the longitudinal direction when the vehicle is moving.
3. From the transfer case side (on all-wheel drive vehicles) the shaft is attached via a flange. A sliding spline connection is provided at the front of the rear section of the 2-section cardan shaft.
4. The 2-section cardan shaft has a central support with a ball bearing secured in a rubber coupling. The bearing is greased and does not require lubrication during operation.
5. During operation, care of cardan shafts is limited to checking the condition, checking the presence of balancing counterweights and their fixation, and cleaning the shafts. Lubrication of the joints is generally not required.
