If the pointer shows a temperature of 130°C (265°F) while driving, this indicates the possibility of overheating of the automatic transmission fluid. The multifunction display will show the indication "TRANSMISSION HOT", and the automatic transmission control system will switch to a safe operating mode, in which a gear will be engaged that allows the automatic transmission to be relieved of load. Independent selection of the range of used gears will be possible after the temperature of the automatic transmission working fluid drops to 127°C (26°F) or less.
If the pointer of the indicator shows a temperature of 135°C (275°F) while driving, this indicates that the working fluid is overheated. The indicator will light up on the multifunction display "TRANS HOT IDLE ENGINE", the horn will also sound. Immediately stop the vehicle in a safe place, set the parking brake, shift the transmission selector to the "P" position, and let the engine idle until the coolant temperature drops to 127°C (26°F) or less. If the coolant temperature does not drop, contact your dealer to have the problem corrected.
Note: The following conditions may lead to overheating of the automatic transmission fluid:
- Towing a trailer or caravan.
- High outside air temperature.
- Low level of automatic transmission fluid.
- High level of automatic transmission fluid.
- Insufficient cooling of the cooling system radiator.
