Engine starting
Move the gear selector lever to the position «R» (parking) or «N» (neutral). Position «R» selector lever is preferred. In other positions of the selector lever, starting the engine is not possible.
For safety reasons, a starter lock is provided for all other positions of the selector lever corresponding to the range of motion.
Attention: on vehicles with automatic transmission, the fuel supply is automatically cut off if the range selector lever is in the position «R» or «N» and the engine starts to idle at a high speed of the crankshaft.
If the engine fails to start, if the air-fuel mixture is too rich, slowly press the accelerator pedal to the stop and, holding it in this position, turn on the starter to restart the engine.
