If you detect a malfunction in the automatic transmission control system, you must immediately contact your dealer or service station.
If the check engine light keeps flashing after starting the engine and the automatic transmission does not shift, use the transmission unlocking procedure described above in the "Shifting the selector from position P" section and contact a service station to have your vehicle checked and repaired.
Caution: If you leave your vehicle, take the following precautions to avoid accidental movement of the vehicle:
- turn off the ignition, fully apply the parking brake and remove the key from the ignition;
- always apply the parking brake. Do not use the selector lever in the "P" (parking) position instead of the parking brake;
- it is prohibited to leave a vehicle unattended with the engine running.
Warning: When switching automatic transmission ranges, the vehicle may move unexpectedly. This may result in loss of control over the vehicle, injury to people nearby, and damage to property. Therefore, always switch the selector from the "P" (parking) or "N" (neutral) positions to the forward or reverse ranges only with the brake pedal fully depressed. This will prevent the vehicle from moving unexpectedly for you.
To avoid damage to the automatic transmission and transmission of the vehicle, do not press the accelerator pedal when switching the range selector lever from the "P" (parking) or "N" (neutral) positions to one of the "R" positions (reverse), "D4" (movement), "2" or "1".
Keep the brake pedal fully depressed when shifting between automatic transmission ranges.
It is prohibited to drive more than 8 km at a speed of more than 90 km/h when range "2" is engaged. Try to use range "D4" (movement) as often as possible.
Never shift the selector lever to the "P" (park) or "R" position (reverse) on a moving vehicle. Move the selector lever to the specified positions only after the vehicle has come to a complete stop.
When stopped on an incline, do not attempt to hold the vehicle stationary by regulating the traction force of the drive wheels with the accelerator pedal. To keep the vehicle from rolling down the slope, use the service brake system.
When driving on a slippery road, select the HOLD position and "D4". The car will move in third gear, which will significantly reduce slippage and loss of traction.
