Air conditioning system (Chevrolet Aveo T200)

Contents: Air conditioner switch ↧ Turning on the air conditioning… ↧ Air conditioner operating modes ↧ Recommendations for using the air… ↧
The ventilation, heating and air conditioning systems are a single functional complex designed to provide the most comfortable microclimate in the car regardless of the season, weather conditions and ambient air temperature. The cooling unit of the air conditioning system reduces the temperature and humidity of the air.

The heating system heater increases the air temperature in any operating mode depending on the position of the temperature control handle. The amount of air entering the passenger compartment depends on the fan operating mode.

Air conditioner switch

The button is used to turn the air conditioner on and off.

The button is used to turn the air conditioner on and off.

Turning on the air conditioning system

Start the engine, set the desired fan operation mode with the switch, and press the air conditioner switch (A/C) button (A/C). When the air conditioner is turned on, the indicator lamp built into the button lights up. The indicator continues to light until the air conditioner is turned off. To turn off the air conditioner, press the same button again. Note that the air conditioner compressor does not operate when the fan mode switch is in the "OFF" position. To turn the system off, press the (A/C) button again and the on indicator light will turn off.

Caution: Operating the air conditioning system while driving up steep hills or in heavy city traffic may cause the engine to overheat. Monitor the engine temperature. If the coolant temperature exceeds the permissible value, turn off the air conditioning system.

Air conditioner operating modes

Cooling

Maximum air cooling mode

To achieve maximum cooling in hot weather or after the car has been parked in the sun for a long time, you should do the following:
  • open the windows for a short time to quickly ventilate the car interior from the hot air;
  • turn on the air conditioner (A/C) (the power indicator will light up);
  • press the air recirculation mode button (the power indicator will light up);
  • set the air distribution mode control to the upper zone ventilation position;
  • set the air temperature regulator to the extreme position (blue zone);
  • set the fan mode switch to the maximum speed position.

Normal air cooling mode

The normal air cooling mode is recommended for use when driving in the city and during out-of-town trips.
  • turn on the air conditioner (A/C) (the power indicator will light up);
  • press the air recirculation mode button (the power indicator will light up);
  • set the air distribution mode control to the upper zone ventilation or two-level ventilation position;
  • set the air temperature regulator to the extreme position (blue zone);
  • set the fan mode switch to the desired speed.

Heating

Maximum heating mode

Used to quickly warm up the car interior. After reaching a comfortable temperature in the interior, immediately turn on the normal heating mode:

  • turn off the air conditioner (A/C) (the indicator will go out); press the air recirculation mode button (the power indicator will light up);
  • set the air distribution mode control to the lower zone ventilation or two-level ventilation position;
  • set the air temperature control to the extreme position for heating (red zone);
  • set the fan mode switch to the maximum speed position.

Warning: Do not use this mode for a long time, as the air in the car becomes humid and stale. The windows may fog up. If moisture condenses on the windows, turn on the air recirculation mode.

Normal heating mode
  • turn off the air conditioner (A/C) (the indicator will go out);
  • turn off the air recirculation mode (the indicator will go out);
  • set the air distribution mode control to the lower zone ventilation or two-level ventilation position;
  • set the air temperature control to the extreme position for heating (red zone);
  • set the fan mode switch to the desired speed.

Ventilation

Two-level ventilation mode

Recommended for use in the off-season, when low ambient temperatures and insufficient sunlight persist. If the air temperature regulator is turned to an intermediate position, warm, heated air will flow to the driver's and front passenger's footwells, and cooler air will flow to the upper cabin area (or air with outside temperature). To set this mode:
  • turn off the air recirculation mode (the power indicator will go out);
  • set the air distribution mode control to the lower zone ventilation or two-level ventilation position;
  • set the air temperature control to the desired position for heating (red zone);
  • set the fan mode switch to the desired speed.

Ventilation

  • turn off the air conditioner (A/C) (the indicator will go out);
  • turn off the air recirculation mode (the indicator will go out);
  • set the air distribution mode control to the lower zone ventilation or two-level ventilation position;
  • install an air temperature controller for cooling (blue zone);
  • set the fan mode switch to the desired speed.

Glass defogging and anti-fogging

It is possible to use the glass heating mode with the air conditioning system on or off. To blow the windshield, you must:

  • set the recirculation mode to the outside air inflow;
  • set the air distribution mode regulator to the glass blowing position;
  • set the air temperature regulator to the red zone;
  • set the fan mode switch to the maximum speed position (for quick blowing or defrosting).

Recommendations for using the air conditioner

If the car has been parked in direct sunlight, open the windows and ventilate the interior before turning on the air conditioner.

To clear fogged windows from condensation in rainy weather, reduce the air temperature in the car by turning on the air conditioner. This technique is useful in the rainy season, when the air humidity is very high.

When driving in city traffic with heavy traffic, the efficiency of the air conditioning system may be reduced due to frequent stops and low speed driving.

If the air conditioner is not used for a long time (a month or more), it is necessary to turn it on for a few minutes once a week as a preventive measure, even in winter. Turn on the air conditioner when the engine is idling. Periodic switching on of the air conditioner helps to maintain a layer of lubricant on the compressor parts and seals, which extends the service life of the air conditioning system.

Caution: The air conditioning compressor will not turn on if the fan mode switch is in the "OFF" position.
