To remove the timing belt, follow the instructions below:
- disconnect the negative battery terminal;
- disconnect the intake air temperature (IAT) sensor connector;
- disconnect the air intake pipe from the throttle valve;
- disconnect the breather from the cylinder head cover;
- unscrew the mounting screws and remove the air filter;

- remove the front right wheel and mudguard;
- remove the auxiliary drive belt;
- unscrew the mounting screw and remove the crankshaft pulley;

- unscrew the mounting screws and remove the upper and lower front timing belt covers;

- loosen the power steering pump mounting screws;
- install the crankshaft pulley mounting screw and use it to turn the shaft clockwise until the marks on the crankshaft gear and the rear timing cover match;

- loosen the coolant pump mounting screws;
- using a suitable tool, turn the coolant pump counterclockwise, thereby releasing the timing belt tension;

- remove the timing belt starting from the power steering pump.

Installation
Before installing the timing belt, follow the instructions below:
- align the marks on the crankshaft gear and the rear timing cover (see figure T250 3.016);
- align the marks on the camshaft gears.

Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
