Timing belt (Chevrolet Aveo T250)

To remove the timing belt, follow the instructions below:
  • disconnect the negative battery terminal;
  • disconnect the intake air temperature (IAT) sensor connector;
  • disconnect the air intake pipe from the throttle valve;
  • disconnect the breather from the cylinder head cover;
  • unscrew the mounting screws and remove the air filter;

unscrew the mounting screws and remove the air filter;

  • remove the front right wheel and mudguard;
  • remove the auxiliary drive belt;
  • unscrew the mounting screw and remove the crankshaft pulley;

unscrew the mounting screw and remove the crankshaft pulley;

  • unscrew the mounting screws and remove the upper and lower front timing belt covers;

unscrew the mounting screws and remove the upper and lower front timing belt covers;

  • loosen the power steering pump mounting screws;
  • install the crankshaft pulley mounting screw and use it to turn the shaft clockwise until the marks on the crankshaft gear and the rear timing cover match;

  • loosen the coolant pump mounting screws;
  • using a suitable tool, turn the coolant pump counterclockwise, thereby releasing the timing belt tension;

  • remove the timing belt starting from the power steering pump.

Installation



Before installing the timing belt, follow the instructions below:
  • align the marks on the crankshaft gear and the rear timing cover (see figure T250 3.016);
  • align the marks on the camshaft gears.

Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
