Removal and installation of the power unit (Chevrolet Aveo T250)

Removal



To dismantle the power unit (engine, gearbox) follow the instructions below:
  • perform a pressure reduction operation in the fuel system. To do this, let the engine run for 10 seconds with the fuel pump disconnected. To disconnect the fuel pump, remove the fuse;
  • remove the hood;
  • drain the engine oil;
  • disconnect the negative and positive terminals of the battery;
  • disconnect the ground from the car frame;

disconnect the ground from the car frame;

  • discharge the air conditioning system;
  • disconnect the intake air temperature (IAT) sensor connector;
  • disconnect the air ducts from the throttle valve and air filter;
  • disconnect the breather from the cylinder head cover;

disconnect the breather from the cylinder head cover;

  • remove the front right wheel and mudguard;
  • remove the auxiliary drive belt (if installed);
  • remove the generator adjusting screw;
  • drain the coolant;
  • remove the radiator and engine cooling fan;
  • disconnect the upper radiator hose from the thermostat housing;
  • disconnect the power steering return and pressure hoses (if installed) from the pump;
  • disconnect the electrical connector from the ignition coil (EI) and the transmission control module/ECM ground clamp from the intake manifold and starter;

disconnect the electrical connector from the ignition coil (EI) and the transmission control…

  • disconnect the oxygen sensor connector;
  • disconnect the fuel injector harness connectors;
  • disconnect the Idle Air Control (IAC) valve connector and the Throttle Position Sensor (TPS) connector;

disconnect the Idle Air Control (IAC) valve connector and the Throttle Position Sensor (TPS)…

  • disconnect the engine coolant temperature sensor (ECT) connector;
  • disconnect the generator voltage regulator connector;
  • unscrew the fastening screws and remove the decorative engine cover;
  • disconnect the camshaft position sensor;
  • disconnect the vacuum hoses (including brake drives);
  • disconnect the fuel supply line;

disconnect the fuel supply line;

  • disconnect the throttle cable from the housing and intake manifold bracket;
  • disconnect the coolant expansion tank hose from the throttle body;
  • disconnect the heater outlet hose from the coolant pipe;
  • disconnect the heater hose from the cylinder head;
  • disconnect the coolant hose of the expansion tank from the coolant pipe;
  • disconnect the lower radiator hose from the coolant pipe;

disconnect the lower radiator hose from the coolant pipe;

  • disconnect the starter electromagnetic relay "S" clamp wire;
  • loosen the air conditioning compressor hose connection locking screw;

loosen the air conditioning compressor hose connection locking screw;

  • disconnect the air conditioner compressor hose connection from the compressor;
  • disconnect the electrical connector from the air conditioning compressor coil;
  • disconnect the power steering hose from the steering pump;
  • unscrew the nuts securing the lower flange of the catalytic converter;

unscrew the nuts securing the lower flange of the catalytic converter;

unscrew the nuts and remove the front part of the exhaust pipe;


unscrew the nuts and remove the front part of the exhaust pipe;

  • unscrew the mounting screw and remove the crankshaft pulley;
  • disconnect the vacuum hoses and electrical connector from the evaporative emission control solenoid;
  • disconnect the electrical connector of the oil pressure sensor;
  • disconnect the crankshaft position sensor (CKP) and knock sensor connectors;
  • unscrew the mounting screw and remove the crankshaft position sensor (CPS);

unscrew the mounting screw and remove the crankshaft position sensor (CPS);

  • place a suitable lifting device under the engine;
  • remove the service compartment cover;
  • unscrew the mounting screws and remove the torque converter (automatic transmission);
  • remove the power steering hoses;
  • unscrew the mounting screws and remove the lower cross beam;
  • unscrew the mounting screws and remove the right engine mount bracket from the cylinder block;

unscrew the mounting screws and remove the right engine mount bracket from the cylinder block;

  • disconnect the engine from the transmission units (gearbox and final drive unit);
  • remove the engine from the engine compartment.





Installation



The power unit is installed in the reverse order of removal.
