Removal and installation the ignition switch (lock) (Chevrolet Aveo T300)

You will need: TORX T20, TORX T50 keys, a Phillips-head screwdriver, a special plastic mounting blade, a drill with a 6 mm diameter drill, a new self-tapping bolt for the clamp securing the ignition switch to the steering column.

1. Disconnect the wire from the negative terminal of the battery.



2. Remove the steering wheel (see "Removal and installation the steering wheel").

3. Remove the steering column cover (see "Removal and installation the steering column cover").



4. Use a screwdriver to push out the lock of the connector of the wiring harness of the ignition switch (lock).


5. Press the lock and disconnect the block from the contact group.





6. Drill out the head of the shear bolt of the clamp securing the ignition switch to the steering column, remove the clamp and then the ignition switch.

7. Install the parts in the reverse order of removal.
