The throttle control pedal is removed for replacement if it fails, as it is a non-repairable unit and is supplied as spare parts only as an assembly.
1. Disconnect the wire from the negative terminal of the battery.
2. Remove the lower decorative panel of the instrument panel (see "Removal and installation the lower decorative panel of the instrument panel").
NOTE: Steering column removed for photography purposes.
3. Pull out the throttle pedal position sensor wiring harness connector lock...
4. ...squeeze the retainer and disconnect the shoe from the pedal.
5. Remove the bolt securing the throttle pedal to the pedal assembly bracket...
6. ...and remove the pedal.
7. Install the throttle pedal in the reverse order of removal.
