Brake booster — removal and installation (Chevrolet Tahoe 1)

1. With the engine stopped, press the brake pedal several times to release the pressure from the accumulator. Remove the master cylinder from the brake booster together with the valve bracket and control unit, avoiding excessive deformation of the brake line tubes.

2. Disconnect the pipes from the brake booster. Plug all openings to prevent dirt from entering.

3. Working in the cabin, disconnect the brake booster pushrod from the lever, then unscrew the nuts securing the brake booster to the engine compartment bulkhead (see photo).



4. Installation is carried out in the reverse order. When finished, bleed the air from the hydraulic steering drive (see Chapter 10).
