1. Tires or wheels are unbalanced or deformed. Use the services of a tire repair shop.
2. Loose or worn wheel bearings (Chapter 1).
3. Worn or damaged strut or other suspension element (chapter 10).
54 There is a loss of control when braking
1. Failure of suspension struts. Replace the entire set (chapter 10).
2. Destruction or weakening of springs and/or other suspension elements. Perform inspection as described in chapter 1 or 10.
55 There is a tight rotation of the steering wheel
1. Lack of fluid in the power steering reservoir (Chapter 1).
2. Incorrect tire pressure (Chapter 1).
3. Incorrect alignment of the front wheel angles.
4. Inefficient operation of the power steering (see subsection 19).
5. Faulty steering gear (chapter 10).
56 There is excessive play in the steering
1. Loose fit of front wheel bearings (chapter 1 or 10).
2. Excessive wear on suspension or steering components (chapter 10).
3. Failure or incorrect adjustment of the steering mechanism (chapter 10).
57 Ineffective operation of the power steering
1. Failure of the drive belt or tensioner (Chapter 1).
2. Low power steering fluid level (Chapter 1).
3. Clogged hydraulic hoses or tubes. Inspect and replace as necessary.
4. Penetration of air into the power steering hydraulic system. Bleed the system (chapter 10).
58 Excessive general tire wear noted
1. Incorrect tire pressure (Chapter 1).
2. Tire imbalance. Use the services of a tire repair shop.
3. Damage to wheels. Inspect and replace wheels if necessary.
4. Excessive wear on suspension or steering components (chapter 10).
59 There is excessive wear on the outer edge of the tires
1. Incorrect tire pressure (Chapter 1).
2. Increased cornering speed.
3. Non-compliance with the norm of the front wheel alignment angles. Make adjustments by contacting a service station.
4. Deformation of the suspension arm (chapter 10).
60 There is excessive wear on the tires along the inner edge
1. Incorrect tire pressure (Chapter 1).
2. Non-compliance with the standard alignment angles of the front or rear wheels. Make adjustments by contacting a service station.
3. Loose or worn steering elements (chapter 10).
61 There is wear on the tire tread in a certain area
1. Tire imbalance.
2. Damage or deformation of wheels. Inspect and replace wheels if necessary.
3. Tires are unsuitable for use (chapter 1).
