2. Remove the steering column switches.
3. Remove the lower instrument panel trim panel.
4. Remove the upper and lower steering column trim panels.
5. Remove the steering wheel.
6. Remove the VKS.
7. Loosen the screws of the ignition key indicator switch and remove the ignition key indicator switch.
8. Remove the lock slot illumination by unscrewing the mounting screw.
9. Remove the ignition switch.
10. Set the steering to the straight-ahead position.
11. Loosen the clamping bolt on the upper connecting flange of the steering shaft. When installing, the clamping bolt is screwed in immediately after inserting the steering shaft into the clamping flange.

12. Remove the bolts holding the rear steering column bracket. Tighten to 22 Nm when installing.

13. Remove the nuts holding the front steering column bracket. Tighten to 22 Nm when installing (see figure T250 6.029).

14. Remove the steering column from the steering shaft flange.
15. Installation is carried out in reverse order.
