Caution: Do not attempt to remove the protective cap to re-adjust the upper bolt. Incorrect adjustment may result in damage to the idling Air Flow Control valve (IAC) or the throttle body.
1. Disconnect the "-" wires of the battery.
2. Remove the idle air control valve connector.

3. Remove the IAC valve mounting bolts.
Caution: On IAC valves, do not force the valve stem after repair. The force required to move the stem may damage the threads on the worn actuator.
4. Remove the IAC valve.

5. Clean the IAC valve O-ring seating surface, stem seats and air passages with a suitable fuel system cleaner. Do not use MEK.
