Removal
To remove the timing belt, follow the instructions below:
- disconnect the negative battery terminal;
- disconnect the intake air temperature (IAT) sensor connector;
- disconnect the air intake pipe from the throttle valve;
- disconnect the breather from the cylinder head cover;
- unscrew the mounting screws and remove the air filter;

- remove the front right wheel and mudguard;
- remove the auxiliary drive belt;
- unscrew the mounting screw and remove the crankshaft pulley;

- unscrew the mounting screws and remove the upper and lower front timing belt covers (see figure T250 1.036);

- loosen the power steering pump mounting screws;
- install the crankshaft pulley mounting screw and use it to turn the shaft clockwise until the marks on the crankshaft toothed pulley and the rear timing cover align (see figure T250 1.037);

- loosen the coolant pump mounting screws;
- using a suitable tool, turn the coolant pump counterclockwise, thereby releasing the timing belt tension;

- remove the timing belt starting from the power steering pump.

Installation
Before installing the timing belt, follow the instructions below:
- align the marks on the crankshaft toothed pulley and the rear timing cover (see figure T250 1.037);
- install the camshafts so that the marks in the form of dotted depressions on the ends of the toothed pulleys are opposite each other.

Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
