Replacing the steering column switches with connector (Chevrolet Aveo T300)

If necessary, you can remove the steering column switches together with the connector. To do this, perform the following work.

1. Disconnect the wire from the negative terminal of the battery.

2. Remove the steering wheel, having first set it to the position corresponding to straight-ahead driving (see "Removal and installation the steering wheel").

3. Remove the upper and lower parts of the steering column cover (see "Removal and installation the steering column cover").

4. Remove the driver's airbag contact ring, see. "Removal and installation the driver's airbag contact ring").

CAUTION: To prevent damage to the airbag contact ring conductor bar, secure the ring from turning.

5. Disconnect the wiring harness connectors from the steering column switches.

6. Remove the two mounting screws...

7. ...and move the immobilizer control unit away from the steering column.

8. Remove the two connector mounting bolts.

9. Press the latch...

10. ...and slide the connector off the steering column.

11. Install the switches in the reverse order of removal.
