2. Remove the air filter.
3. Disconnect the high-voltage wire and the primary winding wire connector from the coil.
4. Check the circuits with an ohmmeter, the ohmmeter connection diagrams are shown in the photo. If any ohmmeter reading differs from those indicated, replace the ignition coil.
8.4 a. Ohmmeter connection diagrams for checking the ignition coil (on models up to 1995)
1. The ohmmeter should show infinite resistance in the coarsest range.
2. On the most sensitive range, the ohmmeter should show low resistance or zero.
3. The ohmmeter should show infinite resistance in the coarsest range.
8.4 b. Connecting an ohmmeter to test the ignition coil on models since 1996.
1. The ohmmeter should show infinite resistance
2. The ohmmeter should show about 0.1 ohms
3. The ohmmeter should show between 5,000 and 25,000 ohms.
5. Remove the fasteners and remove the coil from the engine, after disconnecting all wires.
6. Installation is carried out in reverse order.
